Combustible Metal Dust Collector Specialists

Our Products

AT Industrial has been making quality, reliable wet dust collectors since 1997, and our industrial dust collectors are built to the highest standards, using 304 stainless steel. That’s because quality isn’t optional with us, it’s standard. Every machine is tested and run before leaving our shop to ensure correct CFM production and that water doesn’t migrate up and out of the machine. When the correct water level is maintained, our wet dust collectors don’t weep, seep, or leak.

Features of Our Industrial Dust Collectors

Our metal dust collection systems offer a line of defense against hazardous dust. Beneficial for various industries, our dust collectors offer built-in features that make them essential pieces of equipment, including:

  • Precision-balanced stainless-steel impellers
  • Easy access front doors
  • Sludge rakes
  • Automatic fill
  • Sound suppression foam panels

How Our Dust Collection Equipment Works

REFERENCE NFPA 484 – The Standard for Combustible Metals for guidelines on proper handling of combustible metal dust.

Using a combination of air and water, our systems capture and collect combustible, ignitable, and explosive metal particulate (dust). Our stainless-steel, precision-balanced fan violently agitates the water inside the wet collector at the same time metal particulate is pulled into the collector. The dust and water mixture is forced upwards in a “wave” motion through a series of baffles ensuring the dust is submerged. The mixture is redirected to the collector sump where gravity forces the dust to settle.

How Do Dust Explosions Occur?

A dust explosion occurs when tiny dust particles such as sugar, grain, wood, or other substances mix with air and catch fire. Combustible dusts become more dangerous as particulates become finer. To prevent these explosions, businesses must clean dust often and improve their airflow, which is why stainless-steel dust collectors are essential.

When fuel (combustible dust) is dispersed and confined in an enclosed space or building, ignition can result in an explosion.

Which Metal Dust Collection System Is Best for You?

There are a few questions you’ll first want to answer concerning your application and the type of dust generated. These questions will help you determine what dust collection equipment best fits your application. They include:

  • What is your process or application?
  • What is the sub-straight?
  • What metal are you processing?
  • Is your metal a combustible metal?
